YOUTH ORATORICAL COMPETITION
It is designed to give students an idea of the value of public speaking and build self-esteem. Students from elementary, middle and high schools, as well as college, compete for awards and other gifts. Contestants must prepare a four minute speech on a selected theme that reflects the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s. The speeches are rated on voice, physical manner, speech structure, development, language, value, and effectiveness of the speech. Only one representative from each school or college can compete A winner will be selected in each category of elementary, middle and high school, and college.
